Our time machine awaits you! We are going to the birthplace of Alexander the Great, Homer, Plato, Euclid, Achilles and the 300 Spartans! UW-Manitowoc is hosting a study abroad opportunity for students, UW faculty, staff, and community members.

For students, this trip may include a 1 or 3 credit course in POL298 or 1 credit in MUS076 (for music students with Lakeshore Wind Ensemble).  Using a series of interlinked mini-lectures, we shall focus on such topics as the rise of democracy, philosophy, the fine arts, and history. This information will form a backdrop for your experiences in Athens and various side excursions. We will connect the civilization of Greece with the classic names and contributions of people, places, and events. There is no better way to make that connection come alive than to walk through the landscapes of Greek history. The sites include the Acropolis, Plaka, Theater of Dionysos, National History Museum, Tower of the Winds, Monastery of Daphni, Agora, the Parthenon and more!
